You have to go all the way back to Grover Cleveland (120 years ago) to find a President who's issued fewer Executive Orders than Obama.

Executive Orders

That's just not even true, you actually have to go ALL the way back to George W. Bush (7 years ago) to find a President who's issues fewer Executive Orders than Obama.

I think he meant to say per year in office. In which case that would be accurate.

Trump will issue more than any of them just in his first year.

It's as constitutional as obstructing congress.

You are comparing a one term President to a two term President.

Actually I'm not but I misread your initial post to say that no President has issued MORE not fewer.

It's my natural presumption on this board.

I am not an Obama fan, but right after he was elected the Republicans said that they would oppose everything he tried to do. All that left him was executive orders.

Ummm, you're an *attorney*, and you're doing legal research *here*?

I simply don't know what to say.

We must recall that the vast majority of executive orders are humdrum things. For instance, almost every year the President will issue an EO to allow Federal employees to go home four hours early on Christmas Eve.

It is common for an incoming President to issue new executive orders rescinding executive orders of the prior President. For instance, President Bush issued an EO banning new embryonic stem cell research. President Obama then issued a new EO rescinding said EO.

Anyway, EO's are presumed Constitutional and in force until either a Court declares otherwise, or Congress passes law otherwise.
