Don't worry about it! Samantha Power said they're going to "discuss it." Then Obama will send an angry letter.

As someone else posted just recently, it was not too long ago that the British similarly labeled the Irgun a terrorist organization. Of course Irgun was "The National Military Organization in the Land of Israel," a Zionist paramilitary organization.

Just doesn't end, does it...

Hezbollah is a Shi'a Islamist militant group and political party based in Lebanon.

After the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982, Israel occupied a strip of south Lebanon, which was controlled by the South Lebanon Army (SLA), a militia supported by Israel. Hezbollah was conceived by Muslim clerics and funded by Iran primarily to harass the Israeli occupation. Its leaders were followers of Ayatollah Khomeini, and its forces were trained and organized by a contingent of 1,500 Revolutionary Guards that arrived from Iran with permission from the Syrian government, which was in occupation of Lebanon at the time. Hezbollah waged a guerilla campaign in South Lebanon—SLA collapsed and surrendered, and Israel withdrew from Lebanon on May 24, 2000.

Since then...

The Arab League, United States, France, the Gulf Cooperation Council, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, and Israel have classified Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. The European Union, New Zealand and the United Kingdom have proscribed Hezbollah's military wing as a terrorist organization, while making a distinction with Hezbollah's political wing. Russia considers Hezbollah a legitimate sociopolitical organization. China remains neutral, and maintains contacts with Hezbollah.

Who have we got to thank?
Pretending that Hezbollah is a creation out of the bad faith of the Israeli government, more verbal diarrhea.

The difference between the historical Irgun and Hezbollah is two fold: A) Irgun would of never performed its operations against the British if the British did not retract on its promises in the creation of the Jewish State and B) Hezbollah is supplied to carry out orders in order to spread Iran's influence.

I see facts are meaningless to the low information crowd. Nothing like a good laugh in the morning to start the day!

Iran couldn't win a war against anyone, but their belligerence towards their neighbors and Israel along with their nuclear ambitions cannot be ignored.

Keep parroting the 200 year argument. This is what people do when they don't have critical thinking skills.
So embarrassing how little history people here know.

Still worse is the bluster upon bluster with more bluster and still more bluster without really saying anything, but history can't be ignored no matter how much bluster to the contrary. I find this particular bluster about this particular history absolutely amazing, as if not well documented or hard to understand.

I can elaborate of course (just as most anyone can) except for the risk straying off point, although Israel is clearly part of the title of this thread...

Or see Hypocrisy thread comment #424 for assistance pulling head out of sand.
