‘He better pick a Black woman’: Biden faces Whitmer backlash from black activists

African American activists and operatives say Biden would pay a steep price if he chooses a white woman for the ticket.

Anticipation has been growing for weeks that Joe Biden will make history by choosing the first Black woman as a running mate on a major party’s presidential ticket.

But after news broke over the weekend that Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, a white woman, had flown to meet with Biden to discuss the vice presidency, frustration and disappointment boiled over among Black female Democrats — including some in her own state.

“He better pick a black woman. If he picks Gretchen, he’ll lose Michigan,” said Virgie Rollins, chair of the Democratic National Committee Black Caucus, who hosted Biden at her home before his Michigan primary win this spring.

As Biden prepares to announce his choice this week, Black women activists and operatives have launched an eleventh-hour campaign to pressure him

So is it racist to use race as a qualifier? How about gender as a qualifier?

For example if Trump announced that his VP choice had to be white and male. Would that be racist and sexist?

The irony is that Democrats have been screeching “racist!” to everyone who prefers Trump when it is they who see everything through the prism of race. (And gender.)

The only decent possibility is Val Demings, but because she has a police background - which SHOULD be a good thing, given the lawlessness running wild in our cities - she will be seen as a liability to the pro-criminal leftists.

Trump picked a white male running mate and now chose a black man to run for president who trump hopes will siphon off votes from Biden.

Yeah I remember Mondale wanting to make history with Geraldine Ferraro. Figured he'd pick up a lot of chicks with that baby. And the country would surge behind him in support of his historic choice.

How'd that work out again? Oh my I remember Ferraro's face at the concession speech. Yep. She looked like a cat someone had just tossed a warm glass of pee on fully in the face.

There was no hiding her....disappointment. I'm hopi g to see a similar look on whoever Biden picks. But this coming election scares me. I'm thinking its gonna hit the fan whoever wins.

Either way I figger theres gonna be trouble. If Biden loses the left will burn down every city coast to coast. But this time people will fight back. Not just hard line conservatives but anyone who's not hard left.

Hell the left might riot if Biden does pick a White woman. They were pretty mad when Dukakis didnt pick Jesse Jackson. So was Jackson. He wanted his moment in history. I figger Biden will pick a Black woman. He wants his historic minute too. As does whoever he picks. And White woman has already been done.

Lol, this would be entertaining if things weren't so serious and on the edge.

Been saying this for months. It’s not going to go a whole lot better if he picks a Brown woman instead of a Black woman either. That will represent one more time the “model minority” displaced a black person. Again, doesn’t mean those that object will vote Trump, instead they will sit home. Which means they won’t be voting for down ticket Democrats either. Better to lose just the presidency, than risk losing a bunch of other national, state, and local races also.

Soooo...... which will it be? Harris or Rice?

I was thinking the same about Demings. The only good choice. Yet she is rarely mentioned.

UGH.... Why do I have a nightmare suspicion that due to all the unrest, the riots in the streets, the brewing race war the Left is pushing, the defeat Trump at all costs mentality, the possibility that the Dems are losing black voters that when the time comes, and we all know how the Dems love to stir up the controversy and how they also never let a good crisis go to waste that we will see Michelle Obama as the VP pick.

I can hear her acceptance speech now. "I am back to save the country I love BUT I'm not going to live in that disgusting White House, the house that slaves built...."

Is this a Presidential election? I feel like we are watching the Big Reveal on a reality show !
