In this forum, and everywhere else that politics are discussed, the left wing and liberal mantra is that big business is solidly behind the Republican Party.

Yet, when I look at this chart of major political contributors, and where they are contributing, it seems that the Democrats are the ones stuffing their pockets with big business bucks...

Is this just another example of how lies are so easily accepted as fact by an uninformed public?

Kind of like the lie that there are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? That Iraq supported the Taliban? Those kind of lies?

Where has anyone stated that the Dems aren't associated with big business?

There were weapons of mass destruction and Iraq was supporting the taliban/al queda. This argument allows for gray area and ones own evaluation of the evidence presented. Just because the liberal media bangs pots and pans clammoring about a conspiracy doesnt make it true.

none of this has anything to do with the facts presented in the orignal post which seem to indicate that democrats are bought and paid for like any other crooked politician

yes. the frightening part of it all as we get older and hopefully smarter we become alarmingly aware of the pervasiveness of lies and misrepresentation around us. fortunately this unbearable discomfort for it all is prevented in the nick of time by retiring us asap hopefully on a very good pension and whisking us off to the senior center where we will sit in on a hand of bridge and pretend to be soft in the head. works for me.
(ps my bridge is improving)

That's why I started the "sheep" thread a few weeks ago. It's always unbelievable how many people I meet who simply do not have a clue what their political party stands for except what they are told to believe by their union or a particular newpaper or TV star... genuine cluless people with no ability for independent thought. It's about 80% of the population for the most part.

What facts. The facts that saddam slaughtred hundreds and thousands of Kurds with WMDs we sold him. The fact that after he surrendered he wouldnt let us or the UN in to put a scope up his surrendered rump to find those weapons.

How about the fact that George SR left the idiot Saddam in power after the Gulf war which was a foreign policy blunder even worse than the war its taken to correct. This all didnt happen in a vaccuum, dubya was just the dumb enough puppet we the people voted into office to correct the errors.

Fundemantal Islamists hate you as much as they do me

Citigroup didn't donate 2.5 million dollars, its individual employees chose to donate. They may or may not had thier company's interest in mind when choosing who to donate towards.
