I just heard one of our soldiers stating that we have cut the military too far and our safety as a country may be at jeopardy.

More people have voted in the primary for Trump but instead of getting behind him and helping those of us who want law and order back; the republican party is going against him and then will blame him if he doesn't get elected when it will clearly be their fault.

On the other side we have a socialist running but it isn't a fair race because of super delegates.

We send money to other countries and support people in the USA who have never done anything for anybody but all you hear is that the people on Social Security that they and their employers paid into are the problem.

Why do I not trust the government? It is a corrupt bunch of people that need to start being more concerned about doing their jobs than they are in keeping pleasing the fat cat companies who are robbing all of us blind. Real loyal Americans are being sold to the highest bidder by our government and one of those people that is using us to make money will probably be our next president. That's why I don't trust our government for the first time in my 70 years.
Scalia’s sheets and pillows “were still in the creased position from that day’s room service, indicating that there was no struggle involved,” the report said.

The Presidio County judge and the manager of the funeral home that handled Scalia’s body said Scalia’s family insisted on not having an autopsy done.

Scalia suffered from coronary artery disease, obesity, diabetes and other ailments, according to a letter from his Supreme Court doctor.

If I had a nickle for every time I've heard conservatives go on about cutting the military too far over the course of my lifetime, I'd have one helluva lot of nickles...

I sure hope we are soon talking about who is to blame for not making Trump POTUS rather than who is to blame for making him POTUS. Please have mercy...

what I found puzzling is that when given along list of issues, most Americans still wanted government to have a “major role” in handling those issues.

It's because consistency is not the strong suit of the American voter. Most Liberals want the 1st and 4th Amendments held sacrosanct but the 2nd tossed out. Most Conservatives want the 2nd Amendment engraved in stone but the 4th they're willing to ignore as long as it's to go after terrorists. Those of us who actually believe strongly in freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, AND freedom from unlawful search and seizure are labeled far-right wing nuts who have no place in society

I'd be curious to see that list, because I think it depends on the issue...

Address pollution problems, for example, protect the environment? Government I think (a no brainer).

Produce good movies, entertainment? Business I think.

Right?

Me thinks you've got it all wrong, as most conservatives do who think they know best what Liberals think, but I've grown weary trying to correct all this wrong thinking, and why bother, right?

See "My Cement Theory" thread.

Started with the Johnson Administration and Vietnam. Then you had Nixon and Watergate. In last decade you had Bush and the suppose WOMD in Iraq. I tihnk there always been some small distrust in the Government but in last 100 years but since the 1960s it has grown a lot more and in the last decade people have became more vocal.

Because the American government is no longer "of the people, for the people." It is now "of corrupt tyrants, for themselves." America is trending periously close to civil war, and maybe it is for the best.
