1) Those economies i'm referencing, largely exist due to the military and bases there. They provide jobs, and the SMs/contractors/GS employees spend $$ out on the economy, since they live there.
2) Trump says a lot of things...sometimes he says this and that on the same issue. At this point, Trump is a full fledged establishment politician. Hillary's criticizing Trump - that's cute.
I don't disagree about the debt - however, there's countless other ways to dramatically reduce spending, than to recklessly pull all SM/contractors/GS employees and close the forward bases without doing a drawn out phase down. Especially when the military isn't even the largest budget item in question. It's the third largest.
1) Why is it the US's job to be world police and spend monstrous amounts of money so our allies can spend more on the benefit of their own people. It is not our job to build up the economy in towns where our military bases are. Pull out of Germany and let Germany worry about it. Keep a treaty for mutual defense with Germany, but we don't need 30,000 soldiers there and the fact that it props up local economies in Germany is not an excuse to keep flushing money down the drain.
Germany recently had a budget surplus...let them flush their money on those GERMAN communities.
2) Trump is a corrupt liar, but so is Hillary. On this issue, Hillary represents expanding overseas military presence and Trump represents reducing it or getting paid more for it.
We are going broke, we can't have Hillary's status quo on this issue for the next century.
We have these bases because we are the most FEARFUL country in the world- we are afraid of our own shadow-and most terrified of the boogie man... so we have guards every where- and we can afford it and we have the man power-
Now do we waste??- How much food did you throw away way night? How many shirts or shoes do you have, that you have not worn in years? How does your garage look? How many vehicles do you own?
We do consume- but we throw more away and blow money on the most expensive crap- now the point being we as a society set the pace- and it has bled into the government-- those same kids throwing out the veggies because they didn't like them or the bike, because it had a flat, and replacing with a brand new one or getting drunk in college (booze costs) every other day-- is the same director at some agency or a politician making decisions about the budget--
We are who we are and we will not change that- we had a housing crisis in 2007-08 and?
We can no longer afford to be the world's policeman. Donald Trump is correct other nations should start paying for their own defense. I believe its time to start bringing our men and women home!
our countries politicians seem to believe that the USA should be the policeman of the planet earth, when in fact we should be staying home unless American interests are involved.

Foreign policy is a bit more than "world police" - but since no one wants to read the NSS or any other documents that expound upon why we do the things we do.
Regarding the status quo - if you think Trump is going to shut down bases like the ones mentioned in this discussion, I have a ocean front property in Iowa for you at low cost.

It takes a lot of other peoples tax dollars to police the world for stability and defense for Globalist Corporations and Banks that have no allegiance to this country. They move overseas with our defense protecting them and then cry foul when they have to pay for that defense.

Think about what? The continual use of fear-mongering to convince us to spend more on our military than the next 7 countries combined with little/no indication we're any safer than anyone else?

Some people think we have to remain vigilant, because of what they saw in WWII, what can happen when the US stays out of world affairs
