And they get two Kings!

One of the students voiced his informed opinion that the majority of the students didn't want this and further that they felt that they were being forced to be societal guinea pigs.

This is what the School Committee Chairman said regarding the student body not being allowed to vote on whether they wanted to do away with Prom King and Queen:
"Frankly, when it comes to issues like this of civil rights, it is not a question of taking a survey and the majority wins," Blumstein said. "We'd probably still have slavery if it was up to the majority at the time."

WHAAAAATTTT?!?!?!?!

The ruling class of progressives are pushing their agenda on the students. They want to take over their minds and have them put up with that which common sense says it wrong. They are feeding the students the wrong thinking.

One can stray far from the norm and think it is acceptable. People can make adjustments in their thinking that will break them morally .. it is amazing how character is affected and broken down when we allow or support deviant behavior.

The left progressives are sick.. and many follow because they are sick in the head themselves. It doesn't happen over night.. The progressives feed on it though words and they accept it as right thinking. Some never realize how sick they are because it is a slow process to get there. The need to think about what they accept as normal.

Good is bad to many , and bad is good to many. This is progressive thinking. Take away your moral fiber and give you anything goes in society. And with this thinking comes a hardness of heart of what is truly right.

And what people absolutely must realize (but won't, because they are so apathetic and dumb) is that it's being done FOR A REASON. This has nothing to do with justice or fairness or whatever you want to call it. That's just the excuse.
This was all laid out and strategized 100 years ago. As was the incremental aspect of it.

I found the article, and needless to say, it's a bit more nuanced than what the OP posited: Gender policy leaves school with two prom kings | Don't Miss This | dailyindependent.com

While I think that insisting the whole proceedings be gender neutral is going too far, why on earth would the students and parents get to vote on it? Do they get to vote on dress code? Curriculum? No. This is an overly-strict interpretation of law, and also seemed to be driven by the student planning committee. My mom always told me that you don't get to complain if you're not involved.

I wonder if those complaining also would complain if students wanted to elect two prom kings or two prom queens but their school said no?
