There is.

Even something as simple as lunch is a school operation. Children have the right to sit in peace and enjoy their meals without having Jesus preached to them. I don't know if that is what happened or didn't happen. However, neither do you either. There are two sides to every story and we are only hearing one of them. Usually the truth is somewhere in between.
If a kid asks a teacher to please ask Johnny to quick talking to me it would be up to the teacher to instruct him on doing just that but if he wants to talk to his other classmates about his beliefs at lunch that is his right.

No "own time" in school? Geez Louise, schools aren't maximum security prisons. Kids are going to discuss everything under the sun when allowed to talk freely. I remember kids talking non-stop about about Ninja Turtles and wrestling.

Have you heard from anyone that the child was preaching to anyone, in the school or outside the school. Except to take the side of the principal harassing and intimidating the family, there's no reason to even use the word 'preaching.'

We're seeing that for some people, their knee-jerk anti-Christian animus outweighs constitutional rights.
