Western countries need an excuse for war. So far the unfair practices and spying excuses are weak. Israel and other allies spy and engage in unfair practices in the US, just like the US do it to others.
The war hawks must be getting too old (can't even get a war going in Iran). I'm sure they'll find their replacement just fine.

So far in the running, its Iran, China and extraterrestrials.
Whichever requires the most defense spending, and can be drawn out for decades upon decades will win the title of the next BIG threat to America. Yippee!
Funny though, I think it was W. Von Braun, who theorized in the 1950s the 'threat list' would be 1.Islamic terrorism 2. Rogue nations 3. Extinction level asteroids 4. aliens.
