" What about the guy falsely accused of being the Dallas Shooter? "
It was the social media that went nuts and accused Mark Hughes. The cops just wanted to talk to him, that's all. People know who he is, he'll get his gun back. The cops are just rather busy right now.
Exactly. He did the right thing by immediately handing it over to the cops. The cops kept him about 30 min to determine the gun was never fired and he was not involved. Sounds like it was handeled correctly. The social medias involvement was reckless, as usual.
What was the difference between the two guys openly carrying? Don't know why you keep bashing the Texas guy for practicing his legal right.
Yes he was there doing no one any harm and was completely within Texas law.
He did not interject himself into any situation, the situation happened while he was peacefully doing the March.
The cops verified he was not involved and let him go. He took the safe approach which was a wise thing to do.
Exercising my 2nd amendment rights can probably take me 10-15 minutes in AZ.
When you live in a place like AZ is best to assume that each and every person is carrying, and if you don't know that, then you need help or you need to move elsewhere.
Sorry, the smart move is to CCW
I live in Bullhead City and see lots of people carry. No problem.

Only problem with CCW is effective concealment means being limited to smaller, less effective weapons.
He broke no laws, it's Texas, he'll get it back. Now if he was white and in New Jersey he'd spend a few days in jail and get the gun back in a few years.
Just so it's clear you can travel through any state as long as you can lawfully posess the gun at your starting point and destination.
Christie step in and overturn the police in NJ where THEY ARRESTED an out of state women who was passing through and had a legal gun.
"Christie pardons woman arrested under gun law
"
Gov. Christie on Thursday pardoned a Philadelphia woman who had faced up to five years in prison for bringing into the state a gun that was legally registered in Pennsylvania but not in New Jersey.
Shaneen Allen admitted during a traffic stop on the Atlantic City Expressway that she had the firearm in her purse.
Allen, 27, a phlebotomist, was indicted after her Oct. 1, 2013, arrest on charges of illegally bringing a concealed weapon into the state, and in September agreed to enter a pretrial intervention program. The program would have required her to give up her .380 caliber Bersa Thunder and complete 25 hours of community service to avoid jail time.
Allen, who said she worked odd hours collecting blood samples from medical patients, contended she legally purchased the gun after being robbed and beaten twice in her South Philadelphia neighborhood. The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office originally denied the woman an opportunity to enter the diversionary program, indicating it wanted to use the case as a deterrent for people bringing guns not registered in New Jersey into the state."
Sigh, this isn't about black people starting to shoot cops in mass. We have the beginnings of civil unrest in several cities, the police feel like targets and will say they can't control their cities. In case you haven't noticed many of the protestors are white. The cops will say we need help, here comes the military and there go our rights.
I live in LA. In 1992 due to the Rodney King civil unrest we were under Martial Law for about 4 days. You had to be off the streets and home by dusk. Saw tanks and soldiers with assault weapons patrolling the streets. If things continue to escalate(and they seem to be) you will see many cities getting to experience what we had in 1992.
The only thing brainless, is not to question anything or do any critical thinking.
Look, nothing would make more happy than to be wrong, but too many things are happening at much more rapid pace.

Weren't a couple of police officers "executed" in NYC last year?
I was in the 92 riot as a journalist. (An journalist with a camera and a gun, several of both actually. ) It was really only wild the first night and the next day. By early evening most folks were worn out. I spent part of the second night in Korea town where there were a few gunfights in the afternoon but not really much after dark. Most of the fires were set the first night and day.
For sure the police lost control. But by the time the NG got there there wasn't really anything for them to do but pose for cameras.
It looks like things will quiet down, but tomorrow is Saturday night, so someone could decide to burn the town down so to speak.
But the LA Riot was widespread. I probably put 60 miles on the "war wagon" that night going around and trying not to get shot. Most riots are contained to a few blocks.
Does anyone remember the summer riots after MLK was shot?
