it is quite obvious to these people, the problem is that most of them wet their pants when they think of that scary black rifle called the AR15. they somehow imbue with magical powers that make the person wielding the weapon kill a bunch of innocent people because the gun is a product of satan, and if we were to eliminate all AR15s along with every other "assault rifle" in the world, we would eliminate mass shootings and rampage killings because there would be no more evil in the world.

You need to have some common sense here. When it comes to AR-17, which stands for Assault Rifle, 17 rounds, machine guns, all bets are off. Seriously. Nobody, except for the rich, should own any assault guns. That's just common sense. You are better to be murdered by bombs than AR-17s.
