A new emerging theme in these left wing revolts is that American police were founded as "slave patrols". 99% of the things this movement says are either outright false or grossly exaggerated.

Policing originated in England. And American policing was NOT founded as "slave patrol".
The whole concept of police came from England. Citizens hated the red coats and their brutality. So...they formed police. THAT IS where the police color of blue came from. To distinguish the cops from the British military red coats.
If the Police were formed as slave patrol.. when? Prior to 1865 and only in the slave holding Southern states so how do they explain that Police were in all Northern states?
If police departments were formed in Northern states I would say following the Dems ideas that the Northern Police were there to protect black people nad fleeing slaves. So why are black folk tearing up anything in the Northern states?

It was a BLM Chicago activist Jessica Disu, who made the claim that the police in this country were founded as slave patrols. FWIW, she also wants to disband the police entirely.
