Ninety-eight dollars, $99, $100… The price per barrel of oil has made headlines every time it's gone up another dollar, causing many to think it couldn't possibly go any higher.

I just saw on the news that PREMIUM gas is $4.09 a gallon in San Diego.

Ain't monopoly wonderful? IFAK - the pumping price of oil in Saudi Arabia is still less than $5 per bbl.

That and supply and demand. Van Gogh's paintings were made with some really cheap materials, but they sell for millions each, because there are only so many of them.

^ that would make sense but Venezuelans are paying 67 cents for a gallon of gas. Why are we paying 5 times as much?

guys this is about peek oil with greed marbled in. As the article says, we need to get used to it. We allowed big business to destroy America's infrastructure (mass transit). We have also opted for this faux living (suburbia). Europe, while paying much more for gas, has FAR superior transportation than we do as far as mass transit goes. Now we have to pay the piper.
