But we need diversity in business and schools where the strongest and the best shouldn't win?
I see the point you are trying to make. You are on the subject of affirmative action again. Sigh.
In my humble opinion, and I can be biased. I was both an artist and an athlete, if college wanted to attract somebody like myself, I won't complain. =)
This is really sad that you would attempt to make some sort of stupid, idiotic statement over the Olympics.
I will say this. I never complained about the lack of Blacks on swimming teams. I learned how to swim anyway. My father taught me. When I was able to find a good pool (with no children around) I went swimming.
There are a couple black female swimmers competing this year for USA.
Somehow, I wonder if it was a joke. Either way, I'm Black and I can swim. If what that person said isn't a joke, I stand as living contradiction, and so does my father(who gave me my first swimming lessons).
It's a source of humor in some circles (several black girls I went to high school with took an "F" in Physical Education the semester we had swimming, laughing off the idea and citing "oh hell no I'm not getting my hair wet") but the truth is, a majority of black people don't know how to swim. The reasons why range wildly from personal vanity to lack of local pools or funds to pay for lessons. This article puts the number of non-swimmers at a staggering 70%.
This must be a Red Neck Hick Thread, which plays to the Racist, because they sure come out in force to sling their ignorance.
These commentators are a clear and present example why racism in American is such a problem and it demonstrates who promotes its continuance. Hopefully these types soon die out, ultimately their graves sites will go UN-maintained over the decades to come.
