There is a contingent of former Obama generals who regularly appear on CNN and elsewhere as "expert witness" but act no different than political hacks. Mark Hertling is one. He and some other general were on CNN all night last night. They could not find one thing wrong with how the war has been conducted for that past 15 years. Obama has corrupted just about every institution in the country and that includes the military. The job of the military is to win wars but he openly says we can't. When Trump says I want my own generals he has a point.

Don't worry, be happy.

Drumpf knows more than generals do about military ops.

He told you so.

Generals don't want to end war; that would put them out of jobs. They want to involve us in as many military conflicts as possible. They derive their power from military action, increased numbers of military personnel, and burgeoning military contracts for weapons and equipment. This is why presidents should not get their orders from the generals. Yes, listen to what they have to say about actual military tactics, but not the overall strategy of whether to go to war or not. This is where Trump is superior to Obama and Clinton. He's not beholden to the "military experts".

We are not fighting another country.

How do you plan to defeat an enemy when there is no way to identify them?

What kind of uniforms are they wearing? There are no gang colors in Syria. It is the ultimate guerrilla warfare.

And they keep changing sides.

Obama is bombing them. How are targets being identified by his administration? Or is he bombing ISIS's opposition?

I don't disagree with you but remember by 2007 we had Iraq locked down. We didn't need to see the bad guys in uniforms to find them. By the time Bush left office the guns of Al Qaeda fell silent. We were the last man standing, i.e. we won. It all unraveled later, but that is another story. Fast forwarding to today, are we in or out? Trump was ridiculed for wanting to bomb the oil fields. Obama finally did that, still half-hearted, a year later. Who are the generals recommending this course of action? I don't want them on my team.
