In inner cities in the UK, there are lots of CCTV Cameras, however the US also now has a lot, and if you link these cameras to the Police Databases, Intelligence Service Databases and other Government and Financial Databases, then there is not too much privacy left.

Absolutely, besides look at the Boston Marathon Bombers, they were on what 17-18 cameras that we know about, how many more? Who knows.
Until the U.S. gets its crime rate down to the level of other civilized countries, I guess this is the price we'll all have to pay.
"Crime rates" would probably be much lower in the US if there weren't so many more things considered a crime here.
