...Kings and Queens? Yes, there were Kings and Queens in Africa (the Rich ones mainly in Northern Africa and not much related to black Americans), and there are might be some small "kingdoms" in Western Africa, but the ones who were sold around as slaves were not descendants of Kings or Queens. Why do black Americans often refer to themselves as Kings or Queens?
You don't see Chinese or Chinese Americans refer to themselves as Kings and Queens, even though there were tons of power kingdoms in all parts of China and some of them are actual descendants from Kings and Queens.

Why is such an insignificant thing a "Politics and other Controversies" issue for you? What is the broad social impact that you see in it?
I've seen places with "Corn King and Corn Queen," "Football King and Football Queen," "Rodeo King and Rodeo Queen," even "Rattlesnake Queen."
Why is it an issue for you that black people do it?

I don't know that many people of any race who refer to themselves like that. Only narcissists/people with low self esteem do that. Now, why do you care? I don't make it my business to worry about that. Why do you?

Then you should look up the Congo and Ghana Empires. And this isn't some Afrocentric mess, it's legit.
