I will use "obstructionist" term whenever (if ever) a Republican comes into power and Democrats use the check and balance system.

The check is the ability to vote him down. No vote at all is simply not doing your job.

It's called the Biden Rule. You may want to research on it.

Actually YOU may want to do some more research on the Biden Rule. Biden did not suggest a sitting POTUS not get to nominate a justice at all and let the next POTUS do so, but simply that the nomination be done after the election , so that the nomination did not itself become a part of the political campaign . That still left 2 1/2 months or so after the election to nominate and vote on the current POTUS nominee .

It's not that big a deal to wait a few more months and let the new President nominate someone agreeable to Congress.

Let the people vote.

It actually is a very big deal when the judicial system is put into crisis mode because one party refuses to approve judicial appointments made by the POTUS the majority of Americans voted for , not just at the SCOTUS level, which would be hamstrung today if a Bush/Gore 2000 scenario were to fall into their lap , but all the way down the line where our entire system of justice is being undermined by the refusal of one party to allow the party selected by the people to do their job .

Of course it is politics . Who said any differently ? It's just developed to the extreme in which the losing party counters their loss by simply rendering the system disfunctional . And partisan hacks from both sides are angry when it happens to them and happy when their side does it, while the sensible middle pays the price for mindless partisanship .

When McCain, one of the more sensible and moderate Reps, suggests that the GOP will reject any and all nominees simply because SHE nominated them , the system is indeed broken .
