Tom DeLay: 'Almost 100' Agents Threatened to Quit Over Clinton Email Probe

FBI Director James Comey reopened the agency's investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails last week because "almost 100" agents threatened to resign before next week's election, former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay told Newsmax TV.

"A few weeks ago, almost 100 agents were threatening Comey that they were going to resign — and that kind of pressure is what turned him around," DeLay, 69, the majority leader from 2003 to 2005, said on Tuesday's "The Steve Malzberg Show." "It wasn't Comey or his integrity."

...
"If 100 FBI agents resigned before the election, he would have been toast."

DeLay — whose new book is "Revival! Revolution! Rebirth!" — said even though Comey announced his findings in July, "those FBI agents didn't stop working.

"It's taken them this long, a few months, to get to this point. They didn't stop working.

"The investigation, he said it was closed, but as far as those FBI agents were concerned, it wasn't closed.

"They were going forward, because they knew that they had to come up with some new information or some new evidence in order to get Comey to open up — particularly when he has this kind of pressure coming from his own agents."

Interesting... just about as valid as anything else out there.

Resign and do what? I'd have to assume that many of them aren't retirement age and aren't about to give up handsome retirement packages and lose their health care etc.

I don't buy it.

I'd say he has a lot more than the two major dolts running for president.

He did nothing. He was cleared of wrongdoing once he removed himself from Congress.

It was a ploy to conjure up charges in order to remove him because he wouldn't cower in fear at the Dems.

I'm sure he still has contacts in government from his years running the House.

uhm..

1. federal law enforcement retirement is 55/20...all they have to do is do 20 yes and reach 55 , or do 25 years for any age to COLLECT

2. their FBI LEO time counts towards any other LEO job federal job (LEO or not) and is accepted and credited by EVERY STATE

3. so them resigning, means nothing as they can get a job almost anywhere, with any governmental agency

That is setting a pretty low bar.

first of all do not play games with threatening the govt to quit especially collectively - OPR be out in droves- and they would pull your ID card shut down your computer in one minute. You would be considered an internal threat-
they can whine all they in the locker room-- want but no threat of anything - they will see you as someone who can no longer be trusted- bye bye Felicia-- zero tolerance. This was the top official's judgement call and you stay inline- or adios
