This GOP's love affair with accusations of "bias" and "conspiracy" go way back.

First, when they defeated Reoublicans in elections, it was just the Democrats colluding amongst themselves.

Then, when they reported certain facts that were unfavorable to Republican's, the Press was in on the conspiracy.

Now, because a decision didn't go their way, it's the FBI.

Anybody seeing a theme here?

Paranoid delusions have a long history in American politics...both on the left and right. Though certainly the right has "perfected" this "art" over the last 20 years to tragic levels.

The great 20th Century political scientist Richard Hofstadter wrote his famous essay on the topic in 1964 to help explain the rise of the radical right under Barry Goldwater. Hofstadter defined politically paranoid individuals and movements as those feeling persecuted, fearing conspiracy, and acting over-aggressive. And the "paranoid style" as he framed it was intentionally meant as a pejorative description of these cranks.

You can apply Hofstadter's explanations to the current crop of extreme right wing paranoia from Timothy McVeigh in the 90's to birtherism to the Trump crowd circa 2016.

If the suit fits...but as I noted this style has been present on the left as well as any reading of the original essay will tell you. It just so happens it is most dominate on the right in 2016. Ralph Nader is pretty good at it too.

One simple question: do you believe Obama was born in Hawaii?

The conspiracy runs so deep, even the voters are now in on it.

You think I'm kidding, but it's true - huge swaths of the electorate are willfully, in a concerted effort, deliberately voting for someone not Trump! Most of them on the very same date, which just goes to prove how coordinated of an effort this is.

I have no idea where he was born. Could care less.

How do you know this $&it? I'm not contesting it. It's just amazing how some people online are just a fountain of knowledge.

How do you even remember that and then recall it to reply to a thread?

Democrats come in many varieties, including moderate and conservative.

Calling all Democrats "libs" is just ignorant.

One thing is for sure: The great Abraham Lincoln was not shot by a Democrat but by a member of the Know-Nothing Party.

Trump is not a real Republican, he is a demagogue, which is why so many well-respected Republicans aren't voting for him.

Trump is the ultimate No-Nothing.

The FBI was always in on it from day one.

Comey failed to prosecute on the first investigation.

What? You can't read? You didn't listen to Comeys testimony?

What is wrong with you people that you can't read and listen to any practical resolution?
