Could be they don't see them as non Americans, but as people trying to get an education and make a place for themselves in this world ... ? There's a thought.
Who's paying for it? That's a slap in the face to families from other parts of the world that spend big money to send their kids to US schools legally.

I do find it interesting that people don't mind opening up their wallets and pay out of their earnings 25 - 30 percent of their earnings to salaries of an inefficient government, yet, they have a problem with people trying to get an education.
We are people before we are of God, or of Country, how is it, that people don't seem to realize this? During the civil war, there were folks who hid people in their basements, because they knew the right thing to do and the legal thing to do, where at odds, one against the other. We are on the verge of facing a very similar situation ... if not the same.
Perhaps the college students that are in protest, see people, not money, where as others do not recognize one exclusive of the other.

These kids aren't shallow, they just have zero clue as to how real life works beyond their "I'm a GROWN UP, YAY for ME!" years spent in college.
