It looks like Trump will out deficit spend Obama by a long shot. 4% growth ain't happening. History shows Republican congresses only care about debt when a Democrat is President.

This...

Just wait until Trump gets his hands on the checkbook. He might splurge since he doesn't have to worry about personal bankruptcy.

Reagan quadrupled what the national debt was, when Carter left office. Maybe Trump will end up as Mr 80 Trillion! He's going to make the national debt "Great Again"!

U.S. National Debt Clock : Real Time
Do you have any government bonds or bond funds ? You could always just cancel the debt yourself if you'd like. Lets just have everyone cancel the bonds they own and it will disappear.

They only hold 7% of the debt at about $1.3 trillion the next up is Japan which owns almost as much at $1.1 trillion. I don't understand why this msinformation spreads and eventually people believe it when it is easy to disprove. US citizens own 68% of the debt at about $13 trillion, so no China doesn't own bonds up the wazoo.

To be fair to Reagan that was mainly due to defense spending which helped end the Cold War. Ending the Cold War made debt reduction possible until the War on Terror.

Tax cuts do not pay for themselves, add to that his proposed infrastructure spending and the fact deficits were already set to go up and we will have 1.5+ trillion dollar deficits. A trade war would make it worse.
