There was not some huge percentage increase in abstainers, this election. As evidenced by the relatively steady total vote:

Year. Total votes

2000. 105,425,985

2004. 122,303,590

2008. 131,473,705

2012. 129237642

2016. 131,153,435
between 2012 and 2016, 12 million people turned 18. so a 2 million vote increase is actually a reduction in the voting percentage

Just because I already made this post on another thread.

Los Angeles county has 10.116 million people. Lets look at that in multiple ways.

If it were a State, it would be the 9th largest in the country.

That means 41 states have less population.

That means it is larger than the 7 smallest states combined.

There are 3,144 counties in the U.S. , Los Angeles county has more people than the bottom 2,297 combined.

None of that.
A lot of people that are not your normal Republicans came out to support Republicans this time because they saw the system is broken in this country and had enough. They not only kicked out the Democrats from the white house but from the Senate and House.

It's a referendum of the current administration.

I'm saying that hundreds of thousands of empty sq miles should be given more weight than millions of people who live in major metropolitan areas because most of the people who live in cities are degenerates.

Three million votes in the U.S. presidential election were cast by illegal aliens, according to Greg Phillips of the VoteFraud.org organization.
If true, this would mean that Donald Trump still won the contest despite widespread vote fraud and almost certainly won the popular vote.
“We have verified more than three million votes cast by non-citizens,” tweeted Phillips after reporting that the group had completed an analysis of a database of 180 million voter registrations.

@tynanwrites @TrueTheVote No. We will release it in open form to the American people. We won't allow the media to spin this first. Sorry.

Until some sort of actual evidence is offered, this is nothing but unsubstantiated nonsense . There is a reason the guy refuses to provide any evidence .

Spin it any way you want. Here are the facts:

Republicans have taken over the Senate, the House, the Presidency and 31 Governorships. That's a total repudiation of eight years of Obama's failed policies.

Spin that, but in an honest, factually coherent manner.

The number of age eligible citizens that voted in 2008 was an estimated 57.5% in 2012.

CNN reported an estimated 55% of voting age citizens cast ballots this year. (2016)

The percentage is in line with the 20 year average.

Its a fact.

Trump supporters have no basis to say things like:

"the voters have spoken"

"the silent majority"

"the will of the people"

"the people have spoken"

"mandate"

None of that.

For the last 8 years the Republicans have been able to run as an opposition, which means they have the luxury of running on abstractions and rhetoric. Starting two years from now they will have to run on defending the stuff that Trump has done. We will see how that goes. If he manages to impose the far right's Christmas wish list of deportations and camps, abortion bans, and Ayn Rand financial policy it may be rough because that isn't where the country is at. Trump won because he isn't Hillary Clinton.

An early test will be the states that have legalized marijuana. Sessions says that as AG he intends to enforce federal marijuana laws in those states. That suggests that the Trump administration will be shutting down the legal mj industries in Colorado, Washington, Oregon and Alaska despite the fact that their electorates have voted to legalize. The federal government vs the will of the people will be an interesting fight when on this issue the feds are on the right but are playing the role of big government while the population is on the left and the left wing position is one of small government. We will see how it plays out. If there are too many of those types of fights, I think Trump will be a one term president. Governing is harder than complaining from the sidelines.
