Pedophilia itself is NOT a crime... acting on it is.
Pedophilia is the attraction one feels to prepubescent children. Having these thoughts alone is not a crime. We don't make thoughts illegal in the US. There needs to be SOME type of action as well. A pedophile is not a criminal simply for having the attraction but he is if he touches a child inappropriately or possesses child porn, or hurts a child in a worse way.

If the thoughts were a crime a lot of people would be in jail. No one is actually saying that.
They want to be some kind of protected class so they can be OUT as a pedo and not face discrimination or "hate" crimes.
They don't really seem to understand how horrible the idea of their child attraction is, to non-pedos. If I were an employer I would want the right not to hire a pedophile even if he or she never molested anyone.

Not everyone in the field is on the Left, but the education promotes Leftist views and there is no way in hades that they would every let right wing perspective influence the DSM authorship.

Can you prove that you know how to analyze "proof" before you demand it from others and waste their time because you have no personal foundation in evidence analysis?

What is your education, exactly? What can you tell me about the standards of evidence? If you can't tell me anything, I'd suggest that you stop posing as a scientist before you end up getting into a debate that you aren't prepared to be in.
What you just stated is already understood by the legal system. It doesn't require articles that, as we all know and have before seen, invariably slow walk the populace toward normalization of the behavior.
