Stopping the magnets that attract and keep illegals here is the fastest way to stop the problem.
With no jobs, welfare, free healthcare, free schooling for their children, or anchor baby citizenship, they will quickly self-deport.
May Trump have the cahones to do it.

Any mayor that willingly defies federal law (regarding santcuary status) should be arrested by federal marshals and charged with felony obstruction of justice.

As much money as illegals cost us for services, it will be a net savings.

Almost a decade ago, Texas spent $677 million (yes, nearly 2/3 a billion dollars) each year on illegal immigrant healthcare alone:

I would say God Bless the Great State, but what took them so long? This should be a no brainer by Texas standards.

They have many, including Houston.

The problem with forcing the local LE to detain illegals is the cost. They need more personnel, and build new facilities to house the illegals until someone from DC comes to pick them up. I don't think they can force the locals to pick up the tab. For example Miami has said they'd do it if the Federal government pays for it.

Federal, state, and local governments are already picking up the tab for illegal immigration to the tune of $113 billion a year, so whatever ending sanctuary cities costs, it will be worth it in the end.

Again, who will pay Houston PD to enforce immigration? Residents of Houston?
