Legal immigration numbers to USA need to be cut down severely

It is leading to deforestation, lack of jobs, unassimilation, and lowering of social conditions.

The answer lies in the middle and always has. Conservatives need liberals and liberals need conservatives. Conservatives need liberals to prevent them from ****ing all over everything, and liberals need conservatives to keep them within the realm of reality, as liberals have a habit of seeing the world how they would like it be instead of how it actually is. This is obviously a huge blanket statement, but there is a lot of truth to it.

Also, votes
It is undeniably true that when you are forced to live in the modern world, you become more liberal. This is because our modern world does not exist solely in the United States, but happens to include... the rest of the globe.

So we liberals are living in the modern world, where reality happens to include the concept of other countries. We are also keenly aware of how the health of other nations affects ours, the demand that we understand other nations if we are to do business there, and the consequences that come home to roost if we ignore the world around us.

About your second point: I do not see Republicans as keeping Democrats "in reality". I think the modern GOP has moved so far into fantasy land, with promises of a "return" to a past that never existed, that they might as well be writing the sequel to Peter Pan.

I would be delighted if they would come back to their senses, neutralize the radicals that have held the party hostage, and get back in the business of running government as a necessary element of a healthy nation. I do not see that happening anytime soon.

I didn't try to define anything, I was only going by what you said, which didn't make any sense, and still doesn't.

We can pick and choose our immigrants we should pick highly skilled and/or wealthy immigrants. We should not pick immigrants that put a strain on the welfare state. Liberals should recognize this. Historically it was pro-labor groups that opposed liberal immigration.

Any excuse other than political power is a complete joke, Liberals support immigration (both legal and illegal) because it gains them votes. Libs have been pandering to illegal immigrants for years and they're still dumbfounded as to how it didn't help them win the 2016 POTUS election. It's also very clear that the plan worked great in CA, a state with some of the highest levels of illegal immigration just happens to be the state that is pushing the "popular vote" meme.

Liberals have no problem whatsoever selling out our country's safety, security and prosperity to gain political power.

haha really? at 63 I am even more aware that I do not want to be a hypocrite. I know most places who hire these illegals are republican!! - let's start there..

BUT putting people in a "box" again - what is UP with that??? really??

Two reasons.

1. Immigrants tend to vote for democrats.

2. Conservatives don't like it.

Reason #2 is often overlooked but is a big motivator for many. It's also a good way to keep score. The more foreign and less western a given area of the country is, the more they are winning. If the westerners complain about it, all the better. They prefer that the west goes down with a whine, it makes their celebration that much more satisfying.

Personally, I believe that all immigration should stop for 10 years. Until our nation figures out what a sustainable immigration policy would be, in terms of numbers and in terms of available resources. Also, too many people pouring in too fast; too many people coming here on student visas and H1-B visas. They have nations of their own, with universities of their own; they should stay home. Enough is enough.

At once? That isn't even possible. If we build a wall, start enforcing existing laws, cut off freebies and criminally charging those who knowingly hire illegals, it will still take years upon years for the number to be drastically reduced.

NOBODY has called for the government to go house to house searching for illegals. We are saying to do the steps above and that will EVENTUALLY take care of the majority of the problem.

Like I said, the truth is in the middle; however, liberals tend to be more out of touch with reality than conservatives in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, Cons have their fantasy BS too, but overall they're mre willing to accept the truth on a larger scale than libs.

Examples of conservative based fantasy-land

- Anything having to do with organized religion such as: Abortion, homosexuality, pornography etc

-Environmental stuff like climate change, green energy, or state land.

- Gun control. Most Cons are somewhat reasonable about this, but the extreme side barks the loudest

Examples of Liberal fantasy land

- The victimization of criminals. Most libs have a victim mentality; therefore, they often side with the bad guy.

- Illegal immigration. Most libs are completely out touch in regards to what a problem it is or the size of the problem

- Gender or race issues. I wouldn't even know where to start, but libs are off their rockers on this stuff.

-Environmental stuff like climate change, green energy, or state land.

- Social welfare abuse. Victim mentality again

- Gun Control. most libs are somewhat reasonable about this, but the extreme side barks the loudest

A lot of these things are the same issue. It's the extreme side that is out to lunch. Where I disagree with you is that I see a lager percentage of Libs being "extreme" or "unreasonable." I'm somewhere in the middle and see the majority of liberals in my city (Seattle WA) as being far more out of touch with reality or unrealistic than most conservatives living in more rural areas in this country. Just watching the way these people can't handle the election is a perfect example of this.
