Governors are in charge of their state. It's their job to govern not the president. If you think it's the president's job then why do we have governors.

The above doesn't explain the sharp increase in the last year. In 2015 gangs where similarly structured and they were using social media. I get what you are saying if you compare the gangs of the 1970's to today but I don't think this change can account for the crazy increase in shootings this year.

Um, no actually. The US murder rate keeps falling. The OP is just using the same crappy analysis that you apparently like. In fact, the rest of IL has higher gun ownership and 5x lower murder rate.
Guns are a convenient excuse to not having to actively combat poverty.

Compare the Uk with strict gun laws to the US which have few. The number of guns deaths in the US is alarming
