ISIS sympathizer in Phoenix was plotting a lone wolf attack - ABC15 Arizona

He has a criminal record and is accused of being in a criminal syndicate.

If he is in fact guilty - glad he is off the street and not killing people.

Just an update on the Arizona suspected terrorist.

His name was Derrick Thompson, but he changed his name to Abu Talib Al-Amriki when he converted to Islam.

He has a criminal record including illegally trying to buy a gun, despite being prohibited from being convicted of a felony (armed robbery).

He googled many things online including Catholic mass times, terrorist strikes, and ISIS websites. He posted online that he was a jihadist and supported ISIS.

When someone in this day and age changes their name to a Muslim name, it raises eyebrows. I'm sure they'd end up on an immediate watchlist.

He's not too bright, using his own identity and email address in communicating on backpage. The site is well known for local police stings.
