Not speaking to the left who are behaving themselves... but we have a sizable chunk of the populace who are engaging in a bunch of un-American behavior. I am not referring to peaceful protests, but more about real violence and intimidation and general misbehavior. They preach to others about tolerance, but have none themselves. They just seem to be spoiled bullies that are fueled probably by the media and the internet.

I understand Obama had a bunch of opposition as well. And now that the tables have flipped, I understand how Obama supporters felt eight years ago. There was protests, but there was virtually no infringing upon others like there is today.

Left's Intolerant Hypocrites Stoke Anti-Trump Violence

The reference to McCarthyism is about Hollywood producers and others who were blacklisted for supporting Communism, and McCarthy's aggression in routing out the traitors.

Today we have the reverse effect where "they can to intimidate any in their industry who dare support Trump and even worse perform at his inauguration."

Also...

Most shameful is that many supporting and participating in such blatant political intolerance and repression are members of groups that have historically been the victims of various forms of racial, ethnic and political oppression including Asians, blacks, Jews, and women.

Not realizing or caring that words often have consequences, these latter day McCarthyites, many Democrats in Congress, and their media allies have created a tinder-box of inflammatory anti-Trump vitriol, hatred and intolerance the ignition of which can lead to violence.

After mentioning the Chicago hate crime...

As far as I know, those anti-Trump McCarthyite elitist celebrities have been silent offering no condemnation of this dastardly act.

If the shoe had been on the other foot with a black victim and white assailants yelling racist comments about Obama, you can bet that the president, attorney general, Chicago’s own Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rev. Al Sharpton, and those Hollywood celebrities would have rushed to the nearest microphones and cameras to condemn the act — and probably blame Trump!

Which extends to the press secretary... the White House often makes these types of ambiguous statements when describing what happened.

"a level of depravity that is an outrage to a lot of Americans"

Shouldn't it be an outrage to all Americans? Shouldn't it be an outrage to him? I guess he is being honest about it - but is it too much to expect a stronger statement than that?

Just glancing over your post, I think your equivalency here is a bit skewed but whatever the case, this Thread is anti-"Christianity Forum" and sounds very 'pro-political forum"...but I'll leave that to the admins

agreed. the O.P. may (or may not) have a valid point but the topic seems to be not so much especially Christianity related (unless as a possible sad object lesson on the lack of Christian charity (and maybe even to desire to "bear false witness...") on the part of ALL sides of the pro/anti Trump debate) but instead a political discussion/debate/battle.
