Illegal immigration became a tidal wave in the 80's. Immigration Reform gave amnesty/ pathway to millions.
Employment of undocumented workers became a crime. Promises were made to secure the borders.

20 years later a partial wall was erected with miles of gaps to accommodate special interests, university, country clubs, resorts, HOAs and private lands.

30 years later and only a handful of states made e-Verify a requirement for all employers. Why is this?

So long as US employers continue to hire undocumented workers and do not face harsh consequences for doing so, no wall is high enough nor patrols deep enough to prevent illegal immigration.

Ah yes, hypocrites. The hallmark of the liberal. Of course you characterize hypocrisy from the right as a bad thing, while the left practices it wholesale and gets a pass.

The right tries to hold themselves to a higher standard. Thanks for noticing, and acknowledging it with your post.

She was correct. The Republicans always HARP on a balanced budget. That's all they do is talk.

The only thing worse than a "tax and waste lib" is a "Don't tax, and waste just as much Repub"

If the republicans, or any party, actually demonstrated the platform they run on (Balanced budget, fiscal responsibility, smaller government, less intrusive government), I believe they would win by a landslide. Instead, you have republicans who run on those platforms, but have just as much pork as Dems, then they want to pass laws that legislate what happens in your bed, where you pray (or don't pray), who you can marry, and what laws local municipalities can or cannot pass. It is the furthest thing from what they run on.

Ideologically, I like the republican platform. In practice, it has been one of the most unAmerican things I've seen in my lifetime.

Mexico isn't paying for a damn wall. If Trump wants taxpayers to pay for it he needs to pay some taxes. How many years hasn't he paid taxes? Where are his tax returns? Another Lie? Looks like the stupid American public is stuck holding the bag again...
