Hint, look up "Chief Executive of the United States.
He isn't over Congress. They are all equal. I'd be careful making accusations if I was you.

In practical terms, the prez is so much more powerful than Congress that nobody really thinks they're equal.

They certainly did not like the way things are done in this country, so you obviously believe they had no business being in government.

Did you also suggest they resign? If not, I would suggest that is hypocrisy to the max. If so, I commend you.

Southern cities have long led the USA in violent crime. Birmingham had a high murder rate going back to the 1940s. Memphis was called the murder capital of America in the early 20th century.

Truth is, Blacks are less poor today than they were back in the 1960s. Alot of Blacks have entered the middle class, the professional ranks, the universities. More Blacks with university degrees than ever. More Blacks who are engineers, doctors, lawyers, etc than back in the 1960s. And thanks to the Civil Rights movement, Blacks, along with everyone else in America, have the choice to either remain in the city or move elsewhere. Blacks can live wherever they want, as well as everyone else. Yes, there were more Black middle class people in Black neighborhoods back in the day, but the Black middle class was smaller. Blacks did not have as many options as to where to live. Restrictive covenants, sundown laws, prevented Blacks from living in certain places. As soon as Blacks had a choice, alot of them left the neighborhoods they once lived in.

People exercised their freedom of choice to live where they wanted. Whites left for the suburbs. As soon as Blacks were given that freedom, they followed Whites to the suburbs.

As for Atlanta, Trump to John Lewis: Fix your

The Democrat’s district includes parts of Fulton, DeKalb and Clayton counties – and most of the city of Atlanta – as well as Brookhaven, College Park, Decatur and Morrow. The district has several of Atlanta’s most prominent gems, including Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the King Center and the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

And it has the bulk of Georgia’s higher education institutions: Emory University, Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Georgia Tech and Georgia State University are all in the 5th Congressional District. It is also where many of the state’s Fortune 500 companies are based, including Coca Cola Co., Southern Co. and Delta Air Lines.

It is also one of the most diverse districts in the South. Census data show it is about 58 percent black and 33 percent white, along with a growing Hispanic population. The district has an 8.2 percent unemployment rate and the median household income for residents is about $48,000.

Selma is the eighth most dangerous city in the country. A new study has named Selma. Alabama’s most dangerous city. and the eighth most dangerous city in the country, with a violent crimes per 1,000 rating of 13.70 and a property crimes per 1,000 rating of 105.05.

Study: Selma is Alabama's 'most dangerous city' - Yellowhammer News

Birmingham, long a place that has hovered near the top of nationwide crime rankings, notched the 5th spot in violent crime, property crime and overall crime among large cities in the latest batch of crime statistics released by the FBI.

4 Alabama cities in FBI's Top 100 crime list; Birmingham No. 5 | AL.com

John Lewis's Atlanta landed at No. 14 in the nation for its rate of violent crime when the Federal Bureau of Investigation released statistics last year that applied to 2015.

other places are probably worse

Detroit,Chicago,Oakland,Memphis,Camden, New haven, Milwaukee,St louis, Kansas City,New Orleans, Buffalo, Baton Rouge,Pittsburgh, Jackson, Baltimore, Newark?

The decline of black neighborhoods, hopeless inner cities, the break down of the black family in post 1960s america, out of wedlock rate for african americans and on and on with the failures of civil rights movement/great society/war on poverty and welfare programs and the reality of post 60s life in alot of urban america

Why is calling out John Lewis on the whole debacle of civil rights movement/great society/war on poverty and welfare programs a bad thing
Sounds like an Alabama problem to me. Perhaps Alabama legislators should get on the ball. I grew up there.

Do you think civil rights are a bad thing? Is John Lewis responsible for every big city in every state and their problems?

Get real.

He is the boss. You know, "commander in chief". Harry Truman used to have a sign on his desk that said "The buck stops here", which is, indeed, true.

But its not just southern cities. Camden,Milwaukee,St Louis,Wilmington Delaware ,Chicago, Oakland,Newark,Baltimore,Flint and on and on. Detroit went bankrupt. The civil rights movement and great society programs have been terrible for the inner cities

I have no doubts certain blacks have benefited but many have not, black flight is fine but dont turn around and support anti cop crap like black lives matter which is just exploitative of poor communities . It gives rich and black middle class a sense of racial unity when most of these celebrities and black middle class dont want be anywhere near these ghettos.

People like beyonce have lived lives of privilege and wealth and attended great schools and then turn around and exploit inner city problems, of which she knows nothing about.

It doesn't matter what people think. They play different roles.
