Let us not go there. Utter nonsense. Of course they are big dogs. Smarter, bigger but not people. And their smarts and interest could have made them happy. This view that their are forever unhappy unless roaming the veld is as absurd as we all needing to go to the caves and beating our mates for happiness.
I think someone needs to do some research if you think an elephant is just a "big dog." I don't even understand what the rest of your post is saying. Being abused and forced to perform for people is not what makes them happy. I'm not saying that only animals in the wild can be happy, but a traveling circus is not the place.
If you want to see an elephant, go to a zoo that better understands their needs. One that allows them room to move around, and doesn't break apart their family unit.
Yea maybe it was a little mean to the elephants but it wasnt that bad... They had been doing the circus for many years!!
Just because they had been abusing animals for years, doesnt make it right. Things change, and many people are no longer interested in being entertained by the abuse of living creatures.
And elephants were not the only animal act in the circus, they were just the only one they got rid of.
This is so sad. Too bad today's kids will miss out on the joys of the circus because liberal PETA types wouldn't rest until everyone is as miserable as they are.
Wow, didn't know they were being sued by so many liberal groups especially in CA. Well liberal groups have cost lots of jobs, looks like 500 people from the Circus will be out of the job. Not to mention VW will be letting go thousands of people after their 14 billion fine levied by the EPA.
