The Trump haters are complaining, among many other trivial things, that he tweets too much. So I ask, why is his tweeting so bad?
What is the difference if he tweets or gets on the phone and calls a reporter to tell him/her what he thinks? Wouldn't his tweeting, in his own words, be actually more direct (less prone to misinterpretation and misrepresentation) more accurate as it wouldn't go through a biased media filter first?
It reaches more people, much faster than, say, a press conference or an interview. I just don't see a down side to tweeting.
Just like anything new, people will first criticize but eventually it becomes the norm. In the future, people will probably look back at us and say how silly that people at one time didn't like a president tweeting, when every president will be doing it.
When sent by a head of state, there nothing wrong with it if it is done with integrity, maturity and contains a very urgent or important message being sent to the masses.
While the content is often childish, the other issue is that he is communicating at all this way. Email is bad enough, with regular misunderstandings, Twitter is far far worse. The 140 character limit is no way for effective communication to occur.
Additionally it gives foreign countries, and their intelligence agency a view into our presidents head. Something that really may not be to our benefit.

really? Not effective?
Trump is a communication master. It is through his short and unsophisticated tweets that he reaches to people who don't have time for or can't understand the long articles in New York Times etc. I am not saying he is a great writer, but in terms of political communication, he is brilliant and the election results show that.
The media elites think that the value that they add is to choose what we are exposed to. A new breed guy outside of the political media elites has now used emerging technologies to make them as irrelevant as a letter carrier

I think you are absolutely correct. Some of them seem kind of whiny, like the SNL tweets... maybe he has something up his sleeve down the road.
But in general, the tweets have gotten the results he has wanted - which is why he is still doing them.
