You might recall that Obama SAVED the auto industry so it is he that should be thanked for this development not Twitter Boy. In addition this development would have to have been in the works well before Donny even announced his intentions to run. These kinds of investment decisions are not made by a large bureaucratic organization in a few weeks - but nice try.

Maybe this will get his lowest ever approval rating from 40 to 41%. BO was at 80% during this same time frame 8 years ago. He'll be in the 30's once he starts trying to implement his dangerous and stupid agenda, and continues to confront every barking dog on a daily basis, - BTW, seen the ACA demonstrations lately?

Obama said these jobs were not coming back. Clearly they are referring to the changes that Trump will be bringing to the USA and that is why they are announcing these jobs now.

You can bet that if Hillary had been elected, those jobs would have stayed in Mexico.
Trump hasn't increased anything, he hasn't signed one bill or created any policy. Companies don't make rash decisions based on promises or what might be, they look at the numbers from the previous years to see a trend. Trump has nothing to do with the trend in manufacture or auto sales from the last few years.
Just expanding production at a plant is generally planned 4-5 years out.

This is something that has been in the pipeline for a while.

Obama didn't save GM, the US taxpayer did. What should have happened is to let the normal bankruptcy laws handle it.

And GM promply moved 1000s of jobs to Mexico as payment for Obama's bailout. This is the legacy of a failed lazy president.

Under Trump those jobs are coming back.

Oh and BTW, the taxpayers, under Obama had to bail out Chrysler too. Under Obama, Fiat owns it now. Worst president ever.

Yet, GM carefully points out that this is NOT due to Trump being elected and states that this was already in the works.

And, you refuse to believe it.

I'm convinced that Twitler could show up at your house and beat you over the head with a Louisville Slugger and you'd come here to compliment him on his swing.

I see nothing like that in the GM press release that I linked above.

Not even in office, saving jobs, bringing jobs back and saving money on contracts. He will be a great President.

You need to actually read the press release.

Quote:
GM’s announcement is part of the company’s increased focus on overall efficiency over the last four years. With a strategy to streamline and simplify its operations and grow its business, GM has created 25,000 jobs in the U.S. − approximately 19,000 engineering, IT and professional jobs and 6,000 hourly manufacturing jobs – and added nearly $3 billion in annual wages and benefits to the U.S. economy over that period. At the same time, GM reduced more than 15,000 positions outside the U.S., bringing most of those jobs to America. During that period, the company moved from 90 percent of its IT work being outsourced to an insourced U.S.-based model.
It's part of a four year effort.

Maybe you should change the title of this thread to 'WOW!!! Obama Can't Stop Winning!'

Talking YUGE!!! Winning Doesn't Stop, Walmart Announces 34,000 New Jobs Ahead of Trump's Inauguration

It's YUGE!

First it was GM with 7,000 Jobs, now it's Walmart with 10,000 new jobs as well as 24,000 construction job as the result of Trump's election.

One can rest assured this wouldn't have happened had Hillary been elected. And it's counters the layoffs that were recently announced due to Obama's horrid war on American jobsd.

Winning doesn't stop.

Deloitte & Touche performs periodic surveys of global CEOs in a variety of sectors. In late 2015, they surveyed 500 global CEOs in the manufacturing sector. They concluded that the US would reclaim the top spot as the world's largest manufacturer by 2020.

This projection had nothing to do with politics and all to do with unprecedented ongoing investment by US companies in custom industrial robotics designed to be more productive than the cheapest global labor forces.

Regardless of who was elected in 2016 there is no doubt the POTUS would take credit for it while ignoring the foundation was being laid well before he/ she took office.

Major publicly- traded corporations frequently host massive phone calls whereby analysts and shareholders are able to dial in and learn about the corporations plans for growth. US automakers are reporting record years in domestic and global sales.

Manufacturing follows the market. Volvo broke ground in SC last year for their first US plant because their market share supports it. They intend to make a substantial investment in custom industrial robotics. They chose SC in part because it's a Right to Work state with the lowest Union membership in the US. Their unit cost is lower because they are not burdened by having to fund legacy pension obligations as are their US counterparts. SC will build a new highway interchange to accommodate incremental traffic.

This plant will create thousands of new jobs during the term of whomever won the 20-6 election. There is a tendency among the hyper - partisan to attribute good news to the incoming admin ( regardless of who sits the oval) and ignore that the foundation was layed by the outgoing admin.

Trump won because he had better messaging, jobs and lower taxes. He did not get bogged down in the weeds of the how. He threw enough red meat out to attract the hyperpartisan crowd. The hyperpartisan folk on all sides will likely be a tad disappointed when reality differs from expectations/ fears.

Yeah right let a major industry go bankrupt - right!

BO had the foresight and brains not to let that happen and made loans to the Auto Industry backed by the full faith and credit of the US government - which btw were repaid in full. This gave the automakers the time they needed to turn around and become the successful firms they now all are.

Again a BO initiative which saved millions of jobs!

BTW has Donny Con saved those Rexnord jobs yet, that are moving to Mexico? No too busy tweeting.
