IMO, letting them have a path to a green card or citizenship is the penance we need to pay for their parents being here in the first place.

We have been having this fight since Reagan. If everybody is as smart as they think they are, surely some idea could have been implemented by now.

Have you ever driven over the speed limit or fudged to your benefit on your taxes, you too, are a law breaker.

Looks to me like about 10% of us want to throw the book at them. The rest do not care.

I would remove welfare benefits from all. No matter what anybody says about the illegals paying taxes it does not scratch the surface of what it cost. The folks benefitting from cheap labor are passing their cost on to all of us.

It's alright, Don. No need for you to be so sad You are more than welcome to move several into your home and pay for their immigration lawyers. This will make you feel much better because you get to put your money where your mouth is

So what? They are still here illegally.

When it came time for them to go to college, no one was stopping them from getting a foreign student visa to attend college in this country. That would have been the right thing to do. Unfortunately, they were raised without a moral compass. They were taught by their parents that if you don't want to take the time to do something legally, just thumb your nose at the law and do it anyway.

Weak argument ! What if your ancestors had been turned away and sent back to their countries ? You would not be here now, enjoying this wonderful country of ours. Yeah, I know , you got yours, now let's shut the door so no one else can have the same opportunities we all had. Very selfish, don't you think ?

Maybe the American Indians should have built a wall and sent all the people who intruded on their land home. Think about that one for a minute.

Oh geez, not this again! If someone goes over the speed limit they get a ticket. The punishment fits the crime. If someone is here illegally they are to be deported. The punishment fits the crime. But instead the pro-illegals think they should be rewarded instead? What kind of lame, hypocritical thinking is this?

No, we shouldn't allow these Dreamers to remain here. It would be rewarding their parents for bringing them here illegally. Then if the parents aren't allowed to remain here also we hear "the separation of families" crying. Deport the Dreamers along with their parents and we won't have hear the latter and no one gets rewarded as well they shouldn't be.

Why would anyone's ancestors that came here legally be turned away? Your analogy fails big time!
Who's shutting the door? Are you not aware that we allow in 1 million legal immigrants a year?

This wasn't indian land. No one owned it back then as there were no immigration laws nor land ownership. All of our ancestors migrated here from somewhere else including the Indian's ancestors. You think about THAT for a minute.

Nor should any of us care about them. How is it hurt to send them the whole family back to their homeland where they belong?

Er, you realize many of these people have no memory of even living outside the United States, right?

Are you seriously asking how it would be harmful to someone to be forced out of their home, forced out of their job, cut off from everything they've ever known, and dropped into a foreign country where they don't know anyone and don't speak the language?

Seriously?

How disgustingly hateful and callous can you be?

As for Trump, I believe that he hates them exactly as much as is required to keep his loyalists worshiping him.
