Rather then spending so much more on all these welfare benefits why just throw parents in jail who can't provide for their children?

The parents who can't provide and have alienated their social networks because of wreckless behavior should in silver-colored handcuffs and not getting gold-plated welfare benefits.

So many low-IQ people who can't care for themselves, let alone a small army of children are having baby after baby because they get a luxury lifestyle, thanks to middle-class hard workers paychecks.

The perfect solution to parents who don't feed their children and have a healthy, nice home for their children in my opinion is silver handcuffs for the parents.

The perfect solution to heroin crisis and children being born on heroin and to throw heroin women behind bars and throw away the key. They will have 5 to 6 kids if they aren't imprisoned after 1st heroin baby they have.

So many poor, unfit parents have 5 or 6 kids because they aren't imprisoned after having 1 kid.

I think they should be sterilized if found abusive or neglectful.

Two different issues here:

* Children living with addicted parent/s
* Children living with impoverished parent/s

Which do you want to address?

As of 1/2016, 45.4 million people participated in SNAP and most of them were children.

The average SNAP client received $126.39 in monthly benefits. The average household received a benefit of $256.11. Most SNAP households have someone who is employed.

The global poor have a tendency to have more children than they can reasonably afford.

If a government were to empower itself to remove children from low income homes and imprison the parents, it would become responsible for the care, feeding, housing and medical care of all of them for 18 years. Exactly where do you put tens of millions of children removed from their homes?

A heroin addict is more likely to be a suburban teen/young adult than a urban legend welfare mama.

hello, thats what birth control is for.

People should be thanking Planned Parenthood, not vilifying them.

The addicted ones should be thrown in prison for years. Any women who has a baby on heroin is a terrible person and should be in prison for 25 years.

They should have special jails for bad parents. Outdoor jails with work camps!

Impoverished parents need to feed their children 3 nutritious meals a day, a nice house with a nice big yard for the kids and help them on their homework when needed.

They need to make bad parents lives miserable. Way to many children growing up with heroin addicted, smoker and alcoholic families these days.

There are many people crowding a bunch of kids in little homes, which makes them emotional and physically sick. They should have felony charges!

Good question - but it appears that the important bit is that someone gets punished!

It appears you think that if we make poverty an even worse experience, people will finally stop being poor. That's not how it works.

Let's see how low we can go. How do we truly know if we don't try?

Fully commit Dane!

The children could be used at regional agri-farms until age 18. No TV or internet.
Their labor would help defer the costs incurred by their parents to the State.
Their parents could visit and even get a discount on vegetable purchases.
When they reach age 18 they would be given a modest stipend and released.
This would alter the behavior of the ones that perpetuate the cycle.
Any thoughts?
