Liberal ideology. There's not a single place on earth where a mix of overbearing social conservatism and laissez faire has produced anything good. All prosperous countries are high tax and socially progressive.
That said, the government should work to be as efficient as possible with its revenue.
What is better for America? Leadership under the conservative ideology or Liberal Ideology?
Conservative. Most bad things in U.S. History were caused by democrats. KKK, civil war southern democrats, slavery, Vietnam war by Kennedy/ Johnson, nuclear war by Truman, Unions by democrats, long list....
To answer the question in the thread, either extreme is bad, and people in both of those camps suffer from mental illness. I think the left suffers much more.
Personally, I believe a president who is fiscally conservative and socially moderate would be perfect.
For example, if you want an abortion, abort away, but do it on your own dime.

Please, first, Eisenhower sent the first troops to Vietnam, JFK and LBJ only escalated. Second the southern Democrats were conservative, nothing like modern Democrats, and how are Unions bad?
Moderate, leaning conservative. The extremes are a problem, either way.

I am a conservative & not at all against abortion, women's rights, LGBT or legal immigration. I am however against unvetted, illegal immigration & refugee programs as they are disastrous to economy & security. Homeland security should come above everything else.
