No. We didn't need to - it was addressed by Obama when he was POTUS. Same with every other president to sit in the Oval Office in my lifetime.

We had one of these threads with Georgia in the past week or two, and found out Trump did actually respond.

Actually he did post on his FB page "‪Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in southeastern Louisiana affected by today's severe tornadoes." last night. Saw it this morning.
