Nixon had to resign for bugging a hotel room.

Where is the outrage?

Nothing illegal in monitoring calls to Russian embassy. If they catch a traitor in Trump campaign while doing their jobs, then it only proves they did their job well.

Anti-Trump fantasies notwithstanding, we're not at war with Russia, so I don't know how anyone could commit treason -- siding with the enemy -- in their dealings with Russia.

Of course, giving away intel to another country would violate the espionage act, but Gen. Flynn hasn't been accused of doing that.

The NSA is supposed to be monitoring calls between the U.S. and other countries in which one or both of the parties is believed to be an Islamic terrorist.

Neither Gen. Flynn nor the Russian ambassador is believed to be an Islamic terrorist.

To spy on any calls involving a private U.S. citizen (which Flynn was at the time of the calls), the NSA would have to go to the FISA court to get a warrant.

The FISA court would not grant a warrant for a call that didn't involve Islamic terrorism.

So it would seem that the NSA violated the law by not getting the required warrant.

Intel officials also violated the law by leaking to the press.

It might be time for Trump to declare martial law.

No, Trump was stupid enough to go to war against the intelligence community and he is paying the price for it. The the idiot just did it again by publicly accusing them of stuff.

The intel community isn't supposed to be in charge of this country.

Now we've come full circle -- the "anti-fascists" supporting fascism.

The left supporting the intel agencies it used to hate.

You obviously know more about the left than I do. You one of them?

I am independent, and personally I have always supported those who defend what is best for the United States.

Forget about the conspiracy theories for a minute and ask yourself ,why did Flynn lie. After all it was just a friendly chat with the Russians wasn't it? Flynn is also incompetent which speaks to Trump's incompetence because Flynn of all people should know how everything is monitored in Washington and he lies about it.

I don't know if you are spinning it to play dumb for partisan purposes, but the leak itself was illegal.

It is sad that both sides are being hypocritical here.

For example, Democrats didn't care about any of the content of the DNC WikiLeaks, etc...just that "Russia" may have been behind it, and the liberal Washington Post blasted Trump for asking anyone who already has her emails to release the rest of them.....

Now Democrats say don't look at the legality of these leaks, just look at content...all while the Washington Post is encouraging more illegal leaks and has even set up an apparatus for people to dump more leaks with tips on how not to get caught by the government.

The Washington Post about 90 years ago was openly in favor of the Democrats...why have they since built a façade of neutrality?

Trump needs to fire everyone below GS9 in the intelligence community and start over after he disbands the IRS for criminally behavior against Conservative Americans and Tea Partiers.
