I have no problem with Secret Service coverage for wife and minor children (who live within the household).

But these richy rich grown kids with their billion dollar businesses, should decline SS protection and pay for their own private security. They can well afford it.

The WaPo could have done a little diligence and looked into and added in what exactly the SS does opposed to a private security firm. Also pretty much every president or his entourage has come with different issues from Obama's unpredictability to Clinton's running habit. With each administration there are new challenges, and the Trump family is quite large.

Also if you want to be taken seriously in postings then I don't think capitalizing the R helps with discussions.

How Protection Works
The Secret Service is world-renowned for the physical protection it provides to the nation’s highest elected leaders and other government officials. Permanent protectees, such as the president and first lady, have details of special agents permanently assigned to them. Temporary protectees, such as candidates and foreign dignitaries, are staffed with special agents on temporary assignment from Secret Service field offices. All current former presidents are entitled to lifetime Secret Service protection.

The protection of an individual is comprehensive and goes well beyond surrounding the individual with well-armed agents. As part of the Secret Service’s mission of preventing an incident before it occurs, the agency relies on meticulous advance work and threat assessments developed by its Intelligence Division to identify potential risks to protectees.

Advances in technology and the world’s reliance on interdependent network systems also have changed the Secret Service’s protective responsibilities. No longer can law enforcement rely solely on human resources and physical barriers in designing a security plan; agencies also must address the role and inherent vulnerabilities of critical infrastructures upon which security plans are built.

tRump Family Costing US Taxpayer's Yuuuuge Amounts
Yes, the round the clock security for the "Ivory Tower" on NYC, and weekly security in Florida is costing the tax payers dearly. Florida LE is asking the Federal government to reimburse them for the additional cost because the tab is in millions of dollars already and its been only few weeks.

Florida tax payers are NOT willing to carry the cost, even a part of it, for his weekly vacations and golf outings

Exactly^

Besides that.......

Let's have a peak at what the Clintons and 0bamas have cost the taxpayer over the last three decades, and will continue to do so, well into the future.

I'd be willing to bet the Trump's have quite a bit of catching up to do.

Cry me a river, libs.

Did other presidents adult children have SS protection? Honest question. Reagan's children? Jeb and George W in the early 90s?

Why do we need to continue SS protection for the Obama's? He's out of office, seems like a waste of good money.

They do. I was being There is a reason we spend the money for their protection. Lifetime security goes with the job.
