It's not picking a fight. It's just giving them back what's theirs.

But Trump, being his usual braggart self, has to do just that and make an enemy out of a friend.

Even if we are upset with Mexico over whatever, there is a diplomatic way of approaching the issue, and Trump didn't approach it diplomatically; rather, he just blamed Mexico and ordered them to do what he wanted. Stupid. And we also trade with each other so there will likely be economic consequences.

Mexico is no friend of ours all they have done is take advantage of us. Trump didn't pick a fight with them he like many of Americans are just sick of it and is finally going to put a stop to it.

It truly is ridiculous when a country that has a firm immigration policy of its own and apparently can get quite rough enforcing it, does not 'accept' that another country might also be allowed to have an 'immigration' policy and enforce it. But the fact is, the fact that they think we are stupid and took advantage of that is OUR fault - we allowed that to happen.

Any President who allowed this to go on - and there have been several .. from both parties .. is to blame (not that 'blame' does much good right now). It is going to take a President (and I think Trump is the one) who will actually stand up for America and say, that was then and this is now. We have both the right and the need to enforce our own immigration policies and borders just like ANY other country.

Frankly, it seems no one ever really grows up. This is just like a child who is today allowed to have a certain toy and tomorrow has it taken away because he threw it across the room and broke a vase. He throws tantrums. He screams you aren't being fair. He stomps his feet and tries to hit his mommy's leg furiously. If mommy is smart, she picks said child up, tells him why he can't have the toy back, asks him to apologize for what he did and puts him down for a nap. If mommy is not smart, she allows the noise to go on, gives the kid a cookie and hands him back his toy and two more, and apologizes to him.

We let this go on way too long. It is going to hurt to fix it - on both sides. But, it will hurt more in the long run if we don't fix it so let's just get on with the job. Let them holler and scream. We will all live in the end - and hopefully at least our side will be better off for having finally taken a stand and done the right thing.

The US and Mexico share about 2,000 miles of border.

The Gulf coast is about 1,600 miles.
The California coast is about 840 miles.

Trying to plug one hole does not stop leaks from finding another.

Don't think so.

Mexico is pushing the US.

Mexico allow passage for OTMs to cross the boirder and does nothing to stop it.

Mexico gets felons handed back to them and what does the MX goverment do? sends them back to the US, time and time again. Screw the MX government. People leave MX by the millions and they express no concern or embarassment of failure to retain citizens and have them prosper.

Other Central A countries would dry up and die if US tourism went away.

We can only hope SA would up their standards trhu commerce and trade within that region. That would keep their citizens home.

Annex mexico in the absence of the existence of any sembelence of a mexican government.

Mexican guards at the Guatemalan border, the locale for most attempts at illegal entry, are notorious for the brutality of their treatment of would-be immigrants. The guards' use of violence, rape, and extortion against those seeking to cross into Mexico has, in fact, managed the border so well that the country has only a minimal illegal-immigration problem.

Though Mexico has condemned America's construction of a border fence designed to prevent illegals from emigrating northward into the U.S., in September 2010 it was reported that the Mexican government was building a wall in the state of Chiapas -- along the Mexican/Guatemalan border -- to stop contraband from coming into Mexico.

Mexico publishes a comic book-style guide -- the Guía del Migrante Mexicano (Guide for the Mexican Migrant) -- offering "practical advice" on how to breach the U.S. border safely and evade detection once across. This publication is distributed by Mexico’s foreign ministry and the Mexican consulates; it is also available online.

This is fake news, because it all traces back to Michelle Malkin's blog. She is the ONLY source on this, and I can't find any source in Spanish

That certainly applies to water. But not so much to people.

What is a laborer in Tijuana going to do about a weakness in McAllen, TX?

The crazy part is that we have liberals taking Mexico's side on the issue rather than our federal government's current stance on immigration .

No, the order says it will send back immigrants, even those that aren't Mexican. Trump has no authority or power to send non-Mexicans to another sovereign nation.

And? Our country is now a pathetic joke. Why on earth would I take the side of right wing fascism? Trump voters are way more of a threat to this country than immigrants. I'll definitely get on board kicking them out.
