The title says it all.

Details here: Trump's Family Trips Cost Taxpayers Nearly As Much In A Month As Obama's Cost In A Whole Year

Quote:
The president's three trips have probably cost the federal Treasury about $10 million, the Washington Post estimates, based on an October 2016 Government Accountability Office analysis of White House travel.

By comparison, Barack Obama's travel expenses averaged just $12.1 million during each year of his presidency. In total, Obama's eight year travel bill came to $97 million and unbelievably, Donald Trump is on pace to outspend him in less than one year. The Washington Post says "the elaborate lifestyle of America’s first family is straining the Secret Service and security officials, stirring financial and logistical concerns in several local communities, and costing far beyond what has been typical for previous presidents."

To be honest - Obama's trips and expenses never bothered me. And I'm not even that bothered by Trump's trips (although, I wish they were lower since we know they don't have to be this high and excessive)...but I am curious to see what others think.

We all know what Trump's feelings used to be on this matter:

Perhaps he has had a change of heart?

How about everyone else? Do these estimated expenses bother you?

I haven't seen any threads comparing the two. Just talking about Trump's expenses in general.

This data gives some context to what those figures really mean comparatively.

Remember all the threads about how much Obama cost? Every single day, endless complaints about how much Obama cost. In eight years, Obama won't have cost 1/10th what Trump costs. And Trump supporters magically don't care now.

This is seriously irresponsible on so many levels. This clown really has no regard for the tax payers money or the businesses near MAL that are suffering everytime he comes into town...

Yes, it's very interesting, isn't it?

And quite telling.

That's a lot of people's salaries, isn't it? All for some golf and warm weather.

What's wrong with just staying in DC?

Trump reeks of hypocrisy. When Obama was re-elected in 2012, Trump said Republicans should protest. When Democrats protested Trump, he was suddenly opposed to that. Trump has gone so far as to have his security try to block cameras of Trump golfing. We are paying for security in New York, Florida, the White House and don't forget, we have to pay for his kids including their Dubai trips at expensive hotels. All on our dime.

Just a guess - but the WH doesn't have gold-plated plumbing fixtures. It must give his excellency the creeps to wash his hands in a plain old porcelain sink.

Aww, Donny just hates pictures of himself golfing 'cause he looks so fat in his golf outfit. That's really why he hates the media. They publish unflattering pics of him.
