Donald Trump will propose raising our Defense spending by $54 billion dollars, with MAJOR cuts to domestic programs and foreign aid.
They are not releasing what programs will be cut but hinting at EPA being one of the programs.
"The big, approximately 10 percent increase for the Pentagon would fulfill a Trump campaign promise to build up the military. The senior budget office official said there will be a large reduction in foreign aid and that most domestic agencies will have to absorb cuts. He did not offer details, but the administration is likely to go after longtime Republican targets like the Environmental Protection Agency."
How does everyone feel about this? While I agree we need a strong military to protect our nation cutting our own programs that help fellow Americans doesn't sound right. And we need an agency to protect the Environment.
Almost all of those programs are redundant with some other program in that same list.
Eliminate redundant programs, consolidate wherever possible, audit them and with the exception of Medicaid and Medicare cut them by 10%.
Gain some Respect for Senior Citizens, there is no cut needed to Medicare, there only needs to be management, and approved vendors that are certified and audited quarterly.... Senior Care facilities should be improved and MADE TO MEET THE STANDARD THEY ADVERTISE.
Better data management across systems that can be MADE to mandatory share data via cross utilization's of benefit users.
Many programs are designed to be "in conjunction" with other programs, the problem is, they use different data portals, and those portals do not communicate. It's not as difficult to do as profit seeker make it out to be.
If Google can have a search engine that can find anything in less than 30 seconds. Then it is for darn sure that program data systems could use that exact same format of search engine functionality, to cross check benefit users and compile the profile to get people streamlined in service and benefit coordination.
The problem is the existing vendors all want to sell "stand along" system and charge a fortune to set it up and an outrageous servicing fee.
The government should hire IT'S OWN PEOPLE to set up and manage the system and make it function just like a search engine in the back side and results are compiled into relational data base, and one can get a print out or on screen view of any benefit user and what benefits they are coordinate with, this can also be linked in a GIS system for location and any stat data linked to the individual and their profile.
These people who hire and buy all these independent system need to be FIRED, and set up the system the right way, and hard wire it with locks outs, and special designed terminals with a special designed browser and search engine, must be used when accessing the system. Manual Turn Key, No Coded Cards, no stand alone password, it must have a physical key and a password once on the system, is how each system must be activated to access this specialized network. No USB ports, No Email that goes beyond the secure internal network. NO WIFI connection Period!!!!

It is really eye opening that Trump's blue collar White supporters are so convinced that there are grave external threats that require more military spending when their communities are being wiped out by heroin, cancer, obesity, under employment due to lack of education, etc. All things that are helped by the very programs they are so hell bent on eliminating. The reality is working class Whites are the most vulnerable group in the USA and the only ethnic group in the 1st world to have a rapidly declining life expectancy.
You're missing the point of this exercise, it's a jobs program, what congressman is going to vote against the military and the ensuing funds coming to their state. The problem is, will the American public be OK with buying jobs for themselves, and will congress have any inclination to give up their favorite pork barrel projects.
Its why I didn't vote for him. He's a moron. Hillary was no different. Dead heads to the core.
All he had to do was cut the overseas waste and we'd spend half as much on the military.
