They have very selective hearing. If it is something the press says against them , it is fake news. But, if something nice is said for them, all of a sudden the news is credible. Humorous little devils, aren't they ?
Unless this "investigation" was held on Sunday, it hasn't happened yet. In fact, it hasn't even begun yet. Where do they get this stuff, and why do they gobble it down as if it is true ?

What you smell is all the Left has to offer. They ran out of bullets to shoot at Trump, so now they are picking up the spent casings and using slingshots to fire whats left at Trump, trying to convince themselves they still have a chance to get Hillary in office. My joy in life has become watching them squirm and flipflop like fish out of water, over failure after failure to budge Trump. You have to admit, that it is amusing. Heads keep exploding, day after day, as the Trump Train keeps picking up steam and covering ground.
It is pretty clear they have not yet investigated this yet.

multiple people fired for Russian connections, while simultaneously attacking any news organizations that mentions this. Violations of established protocols in discussing investigations of the whitehouse, with the whitehouse. Refusal to create a independent investigation, refusals to look into the tax records, etc etc.
So...yeah. Acting like this DOES make them look that way. If they ignored it I would assume it was nothing, and would get resolved. Now? Well now its looking like there could be something to this. And that alone should have people investigating the heck out of this. If you were innocent of things you would simply ignore it all. Maybe make fun of them. But they've instead gone ballistic. Like they have something to hide.
And the attempt to involve the FBI in shutting down the media conversation certainly qualifies as more desperate.

I would only disagree with your use of "straws" since I believe this is their last straw.
After chiding Trump for refusing to promise to accept the outcome of the election when Hillary was certain of victory, the Clinton camp first refused to concede the election when the results came in, then pursued a recount using the Jill Stein as a front, then tried to get electors to defect with talk of Russian interference. And now, all that is left is an extremely desperate hope for impeachment.
