How does cutting their budget jibe with national security or human trafficking. Of course there I the inevitable Russian link.

The US Coast Guard plays an important role in sea safety and indeed air rescue as well as having immigration and law enforcement roles.

I would have thought Trump wpuld have been an avid supporter of the Coast Guard.
