Unlike the democrats who basically vote all the same and all as one, republicans seem to be finding out they are too diverse in thought/philosophy than is good for their own party. Can't get things done if people are on 5 different pages.

Seems like they are the dog who caught the bus, without ever knowing what they would agree to do if ever catching the bus.

I think it's time for the GOP to split into three separate parties. One party for the mainstream, sensible, center-right conservatives who want to govern for all Americans. A party for the Tea Party/Freedom Caucus crazies who want to eliminate everything except the military. And finally, a party for the Alt-Right bigots who just want to bash minorities, Muslims, and immigrants.

This isn't sustainable. They can't govern anymore with all these crazies and wackos holding the country hostage.

Seems to be true...The Republicans are a party in flux...they can't agree on what being a Republican means, anymore.
Then you add Trump and his base--many of whom feel that this is their last, best hope to be heard.

I use the the tag "Ideological Purity is Death' for a reason. Pragmatic governing requires compromise.

While it is your constituency that gets you elected..you represent the whole country..or at least that's how it's supposed to work. But, the local constituencies, are so out of step with the country, as a whole--that the politicians can't see a way to both govern and remain in power--so they dither.

Problem is..split the party..split the power--and hand the Demo's the reins.

The mainstream republicans had 8 years to come up with a solution to obamacare and they didn't.

The last time the republicans were in power we had a financial tsunami with the the subprime mortgage crisis, huge bank bailouts, Bush
inherited a strong economy from Clinton, the republicans left a full-fledged recession with the collapse of America’s financial industry in 2008

Bush squandered the Clinton budget surplus. When Clinton left office in January 2001, he bequeathed America with a projected $1.9 trillion surplus. By the time Bush left in 2009, the CBO projected $1.2 trillion in debt, due largely to Bush’s tax cuts and additional trillions spent on the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The whole katrina debacle, the invasion of iraq over weapons of mass destruction etc

I just dont trust the republicans to succeed. I voted for trump to secure the border, do something about illegal immigration and outsourced jobs but he isnt going to accomplish much if he lets the mainstream republicans determine his agenda. Very mediocre group of men

The republicans need to move to a populist and nationalist party like whats happening in europe, thats what won them the rust belt and what appeals to trump voters, the conservatives and their theories have been a train wreck

This bill you basically ha the Freedom Caucus and the handful of moderates in the GOP left both opposed to it. Once the concessions were made to the Freedom Caucus, the moderate faction completely revolted.

He used 'diverse' correctly--rather than the politico-speak you're used to seeing.
