This incident follows a bombing at Cairo's largest Coptic cathedral this past December that killed at least 25 people and wounded 49, many of them women and children and an April 1 bomb attack that targeted a police training center wounding 16 people.
I work with a few Egyptian Americans who are Christians. I have never met more vocally anti-Muslim people than these people. Apparently for good reason. If not for the way they were treated in their own country, they would likely still be living there now.
Cue the usual canned responses/excuses/false equivalencies/infantilizations from liberals about how Islam is a religion of peace, and what about the Crusades one thousand years ago, and Timothy McVeigh, and Hitler was Catholic, and blah, blah, blah...
Intentionally attacking a place of faith on one of their holiest days is about as low as humanity can fall. This goes for churches, temples, and mosques. Just grotesque.
