That is a highly imaginative interpretation. I don't think it is the case.
Modern corporations make a pitch to a market, they have markets all over the world. They want to seem relevant to the customers with cash to spend.
Contrary to some peoples beliefs, corporations are not people, they have no emotions and no sense of justice or morality. They have accounting principles and a responsibility to their stakeholders to bring revenue in exceeding costs.
I wouldn't read anything into it more than that. It is a marketing theme and nothing more.
If you don't believe that corporations are watching how politics are influencing their business than you are being naive.
And yes it is in the best interest of the corporation to spend money to influence public opinion regarding the politics effecting them.
