It was just a few years ago my youngest son's bantam hockey team played the US Women's Olympic team. Our boys were 13-14. The boys were not allowed to check which is normally a huge part of their game. Our boys still won by 3 goals.

They went on to defeat Russia.

FC Dallas under-15 boys squad beat the U.S. Women's National Team in a scrimmage - CBSSports.com

Well, good for them, the FC boys are really brilliant. Here are my thoughts: the girls play on club teams, the good ones step up to regional teams and the even luckier ones pass through the US training center, college, with the final stop being the US Women's National Team. The problem? We loose some real kick ass players during the college phase, some can't keep the grades and others flat just don't go. Anyway, I like the game, but understand why the demand for equal pay is falling on deaf ears.

I'm not surprised. Women do have more anatomical disadvantages compared to males. For example, women tend to be more prone to injuries when running habitually due to the angle of their femur from their wider hips. Doesn't mean they can't run, just that pushing themselves to the max might have more consequences.

It's why I prefer climbing, hiking, swimming, or kayaking to running.

I doubt they were playing all out at 100%, it is a friendly against kids.

I lost more than a few jiu jitsu matches against teens, because I was not trying and letting them get some good practice in, I could have won within 5 seconds if I wanted.

I know right !

In fact I think all girls should get full scholarships at college & guys should get half scholarships ... cause I support girls and you have to love them.

Oh wait....they already do.

That's cool....cause girl's soccer is SO much superior to boy's soccer. In fact, last week the US Women's team beat Rocky Road Elementary School in Bugtussle Iowa.... 1-0.

But they only played a half....because the little guys had to go down for their naps.

Equality is far more than just running out and playing sports. See quite a few posts in this thread like equality on the playing field is somehow indicative of equality everywhere and it isn't. That is called a false equivalence.

Woman are just as good or better than men off the sports field and sports has no bearing on woman's rights or equality with the exception of Trans-gendered folks trying to switch teams.
