A blow against political correctness..gotta love it:
"The Supreme Court on Monday ruled that a federal trademark law forbidding offensive names is unconstitutional.
The Court's 8-0 ruling (only new Justice Neil Gorsuch did not participate) stated that the law's so-called "disparagement clause" violates the free speech clause of the First Amendment.
The case concerned "Chinatown dance rock" band The Slants, which was denied a trademark because its name was deemed offensive.
"The commercial market is well stocked with merchandise that disparages prominent figures and groups, and the line between commercial and non-commercial speech is not always clear, as this case illustrates. If affixing the commercial label permits the suppression of any speech that may lead to political or social 'volatility,' free speech would be endangered," Justice Samuel Alito wrote"

A huge blow to Obama and his "apology" for every name that has been there for decades for sports clubs that needed to be changed because Obama felt offended and tried to create an issue.

I think that that issue predates Obama...by quite a bit, actually---but we do agree---bowing and scraping to every malcontent that cobbles up an issue---is stupid.
If we deem a name offensive..just vote with your wallet. Enough of us do that..problem solved.
BTW...worst product naming strategy ever..AYDS candy..for weight loss...in the '80's

I'm pretty sure "Ayd's candy" was around before AIDS's.

Scalia would be so proud.... 8-0, it must have been a very compelling case and argument.
